About me

I'm Hannah, I have a Bachelor of Design majoring in Graphic Design with a minor in Illustration.

I recently left my job as a designer at a well-known Auckland sign company, Neo Neon Signs, to be inspired by the world and live in London.

Throughout University I started developing my fondness and passion for typography, branding, publication design and playing around with different printing techniques. Two collaborative publications I was involved in were finalists in the NZ Best Design Awards.

Since working in the signage industry I have found an interest in spatial and environmental design.

Working in this field has strengthened my skills to design signage and apply branding to 3D spaces; for retail and corporate business buildings both inside and outside, cars and other structures. I also learnt to design with new materials. It was a lot more technical than anything I have ever done, I had to learn a lot and quickly.

As I was in a self-managing role my abilty to organise and prioritise my workflow was pivotal to the business. The technical side was a challenge but I was determined to learn and my skill set has enhanced because of it.

Eventually I would love to design for big spaces and all the paper bits that go with it and all the digital stuff too.

Whilst working I have also been creating personal and collaborative projects including taking part in the 100 Days Project and working with Design Assembly to create an installation for Urbis Design Day.

Aside from design I love good films, good food and good company.

I have hot chocolate over coffee.

I enjoy art that lights up and interacts.

I like cooking, watching/playing tennis and I get addicted to good television series way too easily.

I am a hard worker; my passion for design is what drives me.

I like to be challenged, it's the only way to learn something different and it's always good to learn new tricks.
