About me
I have recently returned from a post university gap-year travelling in South America, Australasia and South-East Asia. I am now looking for a challenging and exciting product/industrial design role. I have a passion for design and have always intended to work in the field but felt the time was right after university to see some of the world before settling into work. I have recently relocated from the Cornwall to the Haywards Heath area of Sussex.
I graduated from Loughborough University with a First-class BA Honours degree in Industrial Design and Technology in summer 2006. I was selected by Loughborough University to exhibit my work at the New Designers Exhibition 2006 in London and won the KBSA New Designers Award for my major design project.
I spent a year working in industry, during the third year of my degree, for Glen Dimplex Design - the in-house design team for well-known EU and UK brands Morphy Richards, Dimplex, Belling, Stoves and Burco amongst others. During my placement I worked as a junior designer liaising with both marketing and engineering departments and working individually on a variety of projects from concept through to manufacture whilst under the supervision of senior staff, including one product which has since gone into commercial production.
I have strong 3D CAD skills in ProEngineer and am keen to learn new software. I have good graphical presentation skills using photoshop and hand-sketching. I particularly enjoy product styling.
