About me

Dear sir/madam,

I am currently employed as a temporary designer within the Cambridge Learning group at Cambridge University Press, and am looking to pursue my career in design within a smaller organisation, where I can continue to create new and innovative design concepts on a range of products.

As a creatively minded individual with a passion for typography, I have gained experience designing concept cover; text design and new media work for English Language Teaching and Education. Completing a variety of briefs, for Primary, Secondary, Adult and Business learning materials, I am comfortable working across a range of markets, ensuring my designs meet the needs of the audience and quality required.

With extensive experience designing and managing work from concept to production, I have good time management skills and comfortable providing print ready files, with experience working to a range of printer specifications.

Working within the specialist educational publishing industry, I am confident liaising with a number of teams, confidentially presenting work and communicating both verbally and in writing. Working with Cambridge University Press's Production, Marketing and Editorial teams I have established good working relationships with the teams and understand their requirements, working to design workflows and agreed schedules.

Managing a range of titles within a small busy team, I have the ability to multitask and am excellent at managing my time and organising my workload, ensuring work is completed for design meetings - presenting to a number of teams, discussing feedback, agreeing changes and implementing design amends agreed.

Working within a small team I have a close working relationship with the design manager, presenting feedback on the progress of design work, working together on budgets, schedules and workflows ensuring the design team work effectively and efficiently.

It is essential in my current position that I share my knowledge and experience within the design field, mentoring interns as required. As well as keeping up to date with the design industry, I have continued to enhance my technical skills and am fluent in Creative Suite CS5.5, including Flash CS5. As you can see from my CV I also have experience creating HTML emails during my time working for Tobar Ltd. Most recently I have had training in iBooks Author and creating eBooks with InDesign's new Digital Publishing Suite tools.

With experience in both print and digital design, I would be an asset to the Oliver Marketing team through my experience and willingness to continue my professional development within this field, working to the commercial aims of the company and clients.

My current salary is £25,318 per annum. My current contract requires me to give 4 weeks notice. References are also available on request.

I look forward to hearing from you with the possibility of attending an interview within this role.

Yours sincerely,

Hannah Dade
