Dear Purple Recruitment Manager,

Pursuant to your advertisement in , I would like to apply for the post of QC/ Proofreader Linguistic Specialist. I am positive that my ten years of experience as a translator, editor and linguist and my four years of experience as a project manager will be in harmony with your requirements. My ability to translate books of fiction and use measured systematic methods to tackle Arabic texts makes me proud to claim this position.

Armed with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English Literature and an impeccable native Arabic language, I translated nine books, including My Hope for Peace - a book by former Egyptian first lady Jehan Elsadat. Added to my repertoire are one hundred and twenty-three stories translated from English into Arabic. It was such a great honor to win five international grants for my translation work.

As a linguist and editor, I have been managing the online magazine Albawtaka Review since April 2006, in which I have cooperated with Nobel laureates in literature and the most respectable literary agencies in the world:

I have also been managing a publishing house in Cairo that specializes in translating anthologies of short fiction into Arabic. Under the umbrella of the publishing house and in cooperation with The International Fund for the Promotion of Culture (IFPC) UNESCO & The British Council in Cairo, I've just released the project 'This is Not Chick Lit: Stories by Ordinary Women in and Beyond Turmoil' for the benefit of the blind in Egypt:

And for my Poland-based client, Audioteka (), I'm managing the project "Voices From the Gulf" as well as the first translated audio book online store in the Arab World.

I'm currently involved in a number of part-time projects. Once I get a full-time job, my permanent job will be my first priority. I'll only continue to write articles and immediately work to free my schedule from the remaining part-time assignments.
