About me
I attained a B.A. Hons 2.1 in Graphic Design and Professional Media in 2003, and have gained much experience in the past four years. My varied employment has given me a sound understanding of design production and contemporary printing processes, and I am an expert in ICT skills, particularly proficient in the use of Illustrator, Photoshop, QuarkExpress, Director, and I am fluent in the use of After Effects from working at Metropolis records designing DVD's.
I continually work to develop my expertise in the latest technology. I am familiar with both PC and Macintosh systems but create much of my work on a Mac. As part of my Graphic Design course I took two separate modules in Photography and Interactive Media (in animation), and am expert in the use of 35 mm, digital and video cameras. I am able to manipulate, correct, enhance and create images.
I am fluent in the use of all scanner hardware and software, and also printing techniques, type faces, inks and surfaces. Much of my work has been within team-based projects, working from initial conception of an idea through to development, analysis and final production. I have worked as a team player in my chosen field of design, and also as part of the British Olympic Youth Squad, which demanded dedication, commitment and a level of teamwork that has allowed me to remain focused and self-disciplined. Teamwork was a key feature of the experience as was self-evaluation and critical analysis.
As a result I am highly motivated and able to work alone with minimal supervision. I am able to organise and prioritise my own workload. I am very comfortable in a teaching situation where staff may need support or specific tuition. I am able to travel during the course of work and have a full, clean driving licence.
