About me
My name is Greg Gibson my aim is to work for design company that will help me develop my skills whilst giving me the freedom to make my own creative decision within projects. I have recently graduated from Glasgow Caledonian University with a 2:1 BA (Hons) in Graphic Design for Digital Media. During my four years at university my designs have been placed in the top three for multiple competitions, I've studied abroad in Finland for five months, been an ambassador for the university in China, taken an active role in developing the opportunities for school children by being a Student mentor, and started my own freelance design company.
Skills
During my four years at university my designs have been placed in the top three for multiple competitions, I’ve studied abroad in Finland for five months, been an ambassador for the university in China, taken an active role in developing the opportunities for school children by being a Student mentor, and started my own freelance design company., Due to the wide range of project I have work on I have gained skills in most aspect of Graphic Design. These include, Branding, logo design, web design, poster design, animations, motion graphic sequences, and video editing. These projects involved using most of the adobe suite. I use Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, and Dreamweaver on a daily basis and Aftereffect regularly. In addition to these skills learned, studying at this level also requires personal skills such as time management, group skills, communication skills, problem solving
Sector Experience
Submerged in a creative environment throughout my four years at university has given me a great understanding of design and the design process. Throughout these four years I have produced a wide range of design work ranging from branding to motion graphic sequences. These projects have given me wide range design skills and highlighted my passion for web design. What interests me most about web design is how it is constantly evolving in the way people interact with the Internet as well as the technology., This passion for web design has been the basis of my honours thesis of how the user interacts with a web design. I hope to produce results that prove the effect that a visual hierarchy has on the user interactions with the use of an eye tracking facility. These results will produce a factual rationale for the use of the design elements. These results can then be applied to future web design work.
Awards

Throughout my time at university my designs have been placed in the top three for multiple competitions. One of the main competitions that I came second in was for a well-known design company called 999 designs. My design was awarded second place, which was judged by the owner of 999 designs., One of my most life changing achievements was being chosen to be an ambassador for my university. This insight into completely different culture was fascinating and an experience I will never forget., Although I have a good grounding knowledge of design and specifically web design I know that these four years are just the start of my education and I am constantly trying to improve my skills and knowledge of design.
