About me
I have worked as the Design Director at Continuo Creative Ltd producing Part-work magazines for the last twelve years, with experience in managing a team of designers and liaising with and directing editors, illustrators and photographers. Continuo has delivered high-quality products for a range of publishers including Deagostini, Eaglemoss, Hachette and RBA in numerous different countries on time and to budget. This includes meeting the house-style standards of companies such as Disney, McLaren and Jaguar Land Rover for a range of licensed products.
Having studied Design & Illustration at Manchester University I started as design junior for Visual Imagination Ltd then became a designer at Summertime Ltd and Senior Designer at IMP. In 2008 I was one of the founding members of a new Part-work packaging company, Continuo Creative Ltd. initially working as its head designer, then promoted to Design Director in 2018.
With many years of design packaging experience, I have an enthusiastic and positive approach to every new project we publish. I offer creative skills in design and editorial, combined with project-management expertise that is dedicated to meeting a client's budget and deadlines. I can take a concept from conception to a finished product, working as independently or as closely with a client as required. I am also experienced in preparing material for market research and test launches and have worked with numerous research companies to test and refine each product.
I can work to an existing tight brief, or create a finished product starting with a blank sheet, I am used to producing highly illustrated, informative pages using the latest industry-standard software to produce well designed, easy-to-read layouts with creative use of images and text. I have also created publications designed to be read online, I am able to create promotional websites for publications or work together with third-party web design and marketing companies. I am passionate about producing the very best product for the client, I possess an exceptional eye for detail and have developed and helped publish several magazines on a variety of topics. I am most proud of Build the Millennium Falcon for which Deagostini won the Disney Product Innovation award in 2016.
I am currently working on the follow-up to the Millennium Falcon magazine for DeAgostini but I am now looking for a new set of challenges within the design industry.
