Dear Sir or madam,

I am a writer with extensive experience at a high level in the publishing and media industries.

Currently, I am employed by a large, multinational company as PR Executive, solely responsible for writing and producing a wide range of corporate literature. This includes; writing and updating the company website, producing brochures, press releases, advertising copy and writing for the company in-house magazines.

The company also own several other companies including a large design, print and publishing company, for which I produce copy as required.

Between 1994 and 1999 I was a columnist on the national press, writing my own weekly page. During this time I honed my skills at writing for different target groups and developed significantly as a writer. For three years I wrote my own weekly section and was specifically contracted to produce new, creative ideas for the company in order to raise readership figures. I was then promoted to the position of section editor, responsible for the whole entertainment section in the Daily Star newspaper which included: controlling the budget, briefing writers and overseeing sub-editors and designers.

Over a number of years prior to working for Express newspapers, I was the editor of several successful national magazines.

I am currently looking for a new opportunity where I can fully utilise my skills in creative writing.

With the ability and experience to write engaging copy of a high quality to meet strict deadlines, I believe that I possess the skills to communicate with people at all levels and have the enthusiasm, professionalism and necessary skills to make a positive impact.
