About me

To whom this may concern,

I am a recent graduate of BA (hons) Graphic Design from Teesside University. Prior to this, I graduated with a Diploma with Merit in Apparel Design and Merchandising from Temasek Design School in Singapore. Teesside University had prepared me well in the variety of projects and the required skills for the role of a Graphic Designer. I am comfortable working with both MAC and PC systems. I am proficient with Adobe Suit (Adobe Photopshop, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Indesign, Adobe Muse) and I am experienced with digital design, artwork and layout. I have a certificate in Business Fundamentals which gives me basic understanding regarding marketing. I am fluent in three different languages that are English, Chinese and Malay and this enables me to converse better with international clients. I work well under stress and I follow directions clearly. I also have a keen eye for details, colour and design. I am efficient in providing constructive feedback. I am a person that is open to suggestions and criticism. I am constantly seeking to better myself and update myself on the skills needed for this field.

There are certain skills and experience that would aid me certain aspects of the job requirements. Below are some examples:

- I was given the opportunity to work hand in hand with actual clients (313@somerset) for a corporate wear design project for both male and female. This prompted a better understanding of how a designer communicates with clients and how a designer translates her own design philosophy yet at the same time satisfying the clients' requirements.

- I have experience on the front line of a shoe company as a sales assistant and cashier in which I had dealt with numerous customers, training my communication and people skills.

- I work as a trainer for an international art agency in which a series of coursework are offered to children as young as 3 years old to 16 year olds and above. I am able to handle tricky situations and the constant exposure to art further trains my eye for color and creativity.

- My responsibilities as an intern for ESTA PTE LTD involved the project briefing of client requirements, consultation of designs and meeting with clients. My tasks also involved constant designing of corporate for both male and female clients and digitalizing those designs and illustrations. Designing graphic presentation slides and boards were also a part of my responsibilities. Flat drawings are drawn using illustrator and edited according to the design in order to make a prototype, sample order and also for production orders. I also was trained to carry out the role of being a merchandiser in which I placed merchandise orders, communicated with the suppliers and assisted in different projects.
