About me
I'm GLORIA VANESSA NICOLI, born in 1995 in Italy.
I attended Primary, Junior Secondary and Senior Secondary School in Shanghai. At the age of 17, I returned to Italy to study art. As a result, I master the Chinese language on mother tongue level in both speaking and writing. In addition, I am fluent in English and Italian.
In 2017, I graduated from the Accademia di Belle Arti di Brera of Milan, Italy, majoring in printmaking.
I have been focused on creative activities from a very young age. The intensive practicing at home in China, followed by my education at Brera has given me a very good basis in art techniques including oil painting, gouache, sketching, watercolor, printmaking etc.
As I am always interested to explore new and different Art techniques, I returned a few months to China during my Brera time when I was offered a chance to receive private teaching by the Chinese professional artist Ji Fengming. He taught me a unique skill in Chinese color printmaking, a technique developed by himself.
Right now, in my second year of a Master course at Brera, I am experimenting with expressing the interaction and connection between dream and reality with various techniques like digital printing, printmaking, and other ways.
