About me
This experience will help to expand my existing skills and broaden my understanding of design principles. The prospect of working under a live brief also excites me as it would allow me to showcase my ideas in response to the brief as well as putting into perspective the requirements and standards that the industry sets. I already have an extensive knowledge of computers, both hardware and software, and I am experienced with Mac OSX as well as Windows. I want to learn more about the key foundations of what makes a design great, the psychology behind communicating a design and I want to experiment with ideas so they can be presented in a fresh, edgy and exciting way.
I want to study Graphic Design to develop my creativity and explore new ways in which to transform ideas into imagery which impacts both visually and intellectually. I want to be able to create work which is memorable and triggers emotional responses from audiences. I love producing metaphorical work which is visually stunning and engaging and I was able to do this at college through a poster I produced for a campaign to raise awareness for E-Waste Recycling for the environmental agency DEFRA. I would welcome the chance to work with people in different fields because it will allow me to expand my creative thinking and learn new ways of working. I very much enjoy working in teams and be able to bounce ideas off other designers and creative people. I know from experience that this type of environment has helped my thought process when creating and narrowing down concepts.
I am an enterprising person who is calm, motivated and organised. I can communicate well with people especially working within a team and means that even the simplest of ideas can be transformed into powerful graphic designs in a time-efficient and cost-effective way. I would really appreciate the opportunity of working within your company to gain experience in a creative studio and get a feel for what is required in a commercial environment. In return I can offer you a committed individual with good technical and creative skills, a quick learner and someone who can be relied upon to enhance any project with contemporary and innovative ideas. I am confident that I would be able to actively and positively contribute to whatever task is in hand.
