About me

Hello there!

A little bit about myself; I'm a 3rd year university student about to complete my degree in Interior Architecture and Design so I'm actively seeking employment from June 2012 onwards. People often do not know what precisely Interior Architecture is; as the title implies it is placed between Architecture and Interior Design. It is basically about changing existing buildings from one use to another, so while the interior is an important part of it, it also concerns structural changes and how a building is put together.

I have always had an interest in heritage and listed buildings; my dissertation focussed on the cultural heritage, ie. what it is and why and how it is preserved. I thoroughly enjoyed the researching and writing of it, the former of which included examining in detail the Planning (Listed Buildings & Conservation Areas) Act 1990, various ICOMOS charters and the history of architectural conservation.

My ideal job would concern design, the heritage or a mixture of both, but I am fairly open-minded about employment, as I appreciate that the poor state the Construction Industry is in at the moment is not a particularly favourable climate to be seeking a job in!
