JUNIOR COPYWRITER

Dear Mr or Ms,

I am writing to apply for the Junior Copywriter position, currently being advertised on Jobsite. I am a graduate of the University of Lincoln, where I earned a Bachelor's in Journalism.

Since my graduation I have interned in the UK, an editorial intern for a fashion magazine, as well as going on to work internationally: Ireland - as a digital marketer and website developer for an events management company; and this winter I worked in China - I was an editorial intern for an English language magazine.

My academic background and subsequent internships have provided me with a strong understanding of the media. I'm a creative thinker who has a real passion for writing witty and engaging editorial copy especially when it comes to fashion - I feel like I have a real breadth of knowledge when it comes to the fashion world. Since a young teenager I have kept a fashion blog and produced my own fashion magazine- even though it was on a small scale has meant that I have written, photograph and produced content independently.

Attached is my curriculum vitae and from it you will be able to see that I have had previous experience in several fields of the media from: writing, digital marketing, web design and editorial work.

I'm a recent proactive journalism graduate and I have numerous skills to bring to the position, which include: excellent written and verbal communication skills, an extensive knowledge of pop culture and lifestyle journalism, and widespread knowledge of Wordpress.

Studying journalism has meant that I have excellent communication skills - whether it is the written work or spoken. I'm also proficient at: Word, Excel, etc and producing content for social media and blogs. Also I am able to work on producing Vox Pops, interviews and transcribing for several platforms from radio to TV.

I also have strong investigation skills which mean that I have my finger on the pulse and keep up-to-date with trends. I know where to look and find out material to inform my decisions and actions.

Another skill I think I can bring to the position is that I'm punctual. Deadlines are everything when writing copy; I can work to a straight timeframe while keeping work to a high standard.

It is a dream of mine to work in this industry and write copy which you will be able to see from my CV. I have an understanding of the job and what is expected of me as an employee.
