Our concept was to develop a smart sensor & tracker, which operates for many years without external power or charging. Utilizing the novel 5G mobile communication technology, combined with industrial grade Li-SOCl2 battery and smart configuration enables such favourable characteristics.

After 2.5 years of development, NaBi Solo was launched in 2021: A 5G Narrow-band IoT communication based configurable smart sensor, which enables asset monitoring and tracking for many years without external power or charging. Low power cellular connectivity is enhanced with the flexible remotely configurable operation. This enables various applications by the synergetic integration of available sensors in a highly different logical manner. NaBi can monitor the operation of an excavator bucket or warrant the presence of an important traffic sign. It can be placed anywhere without the need of external power source, thus it opens a new market in the field of asset monitoring and tracking solutions. The extremely long battery life is predicted during the configuration, and later supervised by coulomb counting and a machine learning algorithm aligned with real life operation. NaBi is waterproof and durable, just as a real long life smart sensor should be.
