Gene is a passionate production designer creating captivating visual experiences in the design
industry. With over 10 years of experience, he specializes in production design for film and theatre, and
spatial design. Gene brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to every project he undertakes.
One of Gene's accomplishments was his role as the artistic director for the highly acclaimed short film 'Sparrow on the Sea', collaborated with Yang Fu Dong, an internationally well-known artist, and filmmaker. Gene provided a unique, oriental aesthetic art direction for this production. The film is co-commissioned by Hong Kong M+ Museum and Art Basel, showcased in M+ Museum.
Beyond films, Gene was invited to showcase his original play, 'Five Guys,' at the Hong Kong Technical
Art Festival in 2022. He directed and produced the performance to delving into the intricate relationship
between Mandola and the natural world. Moreover, Gene worked with renowned Hong Kong and German
theatre director Pat To Yan as a stage designer for a highly successful VR l immersive play, 'A Haunted VR
Conference', he worked closely with 3D artists for art tech production including Unreal Engine and motion
capture.
Gene's expertise extends into exhibition and visual merchandising. he served his role as the Artistic
Director for the Team Wang 'Standards' concept space in China, where his artworks captivated the
interest of over 2 million visitors.
Moreover, Gene is known as a miniature artist, renowned for his captivating scale models of film sets. These miniatures exemplify his deep passion for handcrafting and creative video production. Notably, he gained recognition as a featured artist in the 'Impressions' exhibition in 2023, curated by The Holy Art Gallery in London.
