About me

The pen is mightier than the sword! I am a creative person, as well a pedant. I strongly believe that for a company or organisation to attract customers, boost sales and retain a strong client-base, they need to create a positive, precise and professional impression through the words they use. I will use my creativity to make your organisation stand out from the crowd, whilst ensuring that the tone is correct for your image, that the message is clear and concise, and a high standard of English is used throughout.

I am an experienced freelance writer, who has written extensively for the Tes (Times Education Supplement), as well as other publications, including the Eastern Daily Press and The Scotsman. I am a former geography teacher and special educational needs and disabilities coordinator (SENDCO) and I possess expert knowledge in these fields. I have attended the following universities: UCL, Cambridge and Aberdeen (where I was News Editor for their student newspaper). My specialisms include education, special educational needs and disabilities, public policy, health and beauty and travel.

I am about to undertake a course with the UK's number one journalism school News Associates, where I will study for the NCTJ (National Council of Trainee Journalists) Diploma in Multimedia Journalism. This course covers: journalism for a digital audience (i.e. digital skills across analytics and engagement, SEO and social media), public affairs, media law and regulation, media law court reporting and shorthand.
