To whom it may concern,

I am writing to express significant interest in your Copywriter role, as advertised on the Indeed jobs website. I am currently seeking a full time editorial role within Warwickshire.

My devoted passion for writing lead me naturally to study a degree in Journalism & Media, gaining significant experience within the field which better enhanced my written and oral communication skills.

During my studies at Coventry University (CU) I worked for both The Coventry Telegraph and Coventry Times, writing regular news articles and features that quickly gave rise to fruitful outcomes and I achieved two front page scoops. In particular my scoop with The Coventry Telegraph carried a health-related focus on the NHS. Demonstrating a highly ambitious and committed attitude to succeed in journalism, my portfolio of published work then empowered me to win the Ernest Petrie Prize 2010 for outstanding contribution to journalism.

Since graduating my studies, I have continued to contribute articles for The Coventry Telegraph and freelance for both Classic Rock Magazine and two music websites: writing reviews, compiling news items and interviewing regularly. This enabled me to develop second-to-none verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to meet and exceed tight deadlines, juggling several tasks at once.
