To whom it may concern,Hi, my name is Gayatri Vadgama I am a Graphic Design Graduate with a BA (hons) degree.I Graduated from Croydon College June 2008; In August 2008 I was given an opportunity of a three week work experience placement in the design department at The Mortgage Times by Nick Perry Duke head of graphics. The Mortgage Times is the largest and fastest growing mortgage network in the UK, where I observed and worked in a professional environment. Here I helped with ideas and contributed to the development of final design pieces and potential outcomes. I also produced flash web banners, posters, and logos. I had the opportunity to work alongside a web designer, where I had the chance to gain knowledge and become familiar with the technicalities of web design.At a previous work placement I volunteered at Jasmines Studio ORU Paper, summer 2005.It was a small Tamil Newspaper business. My first opportunity in the working world where I had the chance to explore my own ideas and approaches, I produced a newspaper advert for a Tamil soft drink and another advert for digital cameras which was then published in the newspaper and both appeared sequentially for two weeks. I was also involved in exploring ideas and suggestions on future projects.Experimenting with different mediums to communicate strong visual messages has grown my passion for graphic design. Practicing the art of conveying dynamic messages has enabled me to grow and understand my potentials in working with different skills.From October 2008 to date I have been working on a personal project, I am developing an online comic book with a collaborator, these past few months I have been working on character developments and illustrations. I have written a strong base of the story and recently have focused on individual characters and their personalities and physical structure.Without any boundaries, allowing myself to think creative helps me to measure my productivity with given experience. I strive to development new skills and learn new things, this reminds of what Edward de Bono once said, “Creative thinking is not a talent, it is a skill that can be learnt. It empowers people by adding strength to their natural abilities which improves teamwork, productivity and where appropriate profits.” I would like the opportunity to be a part of a team to further my experience and to be able to grow as a designer.Kind RegardsGayatri Vadgama
