Dear sir / Madam

With recently completing my degree in Ba.Hons. fine and applied arts , I am currently seeking employment in the creative industry. I feel with my background in fine art I have learned many skills which I could apply and be useful to the post you have advertised.

my course was a mandatory 40 plus hours a week so the working environment is not a foreign system to me. I have learned the importance and necessity of time management from successfully working to realize several deadlines at the same time. I am open to all ideas . I understand the importance and welcome critical dialogue between colleagues. an important aspect of any arts practice is the problem solving qualities that it instills in the artist. problems will arise form time to time but I feel I have the necessary understanding of always successfully seeking to find the creative solution to any problem. remaining positive and committed to the over all artistic direction of the project and leadership is very important in the successful completion of any artistic endeavor. Not only in my studies have I had to apply these skills but also with in my experiences of exhibiting as an artist either that be of solo or group shows.

In the course of my artistic education along with natural ability I have honed the core skills needed to be competent in that of the ability and understanding of how to draw with , perspective , light , shade , fore shortening and the understanding of anatomy for realistic realizations. also with the necessary skills for sculpting , photography and painting.

as well with this understand of these traditional practices of art, I as an artist create and exhibit sculpture , video installation and performance pieces. the digital media is something I use everyday in my own practice as an installation artist. installation art is creating an environment in which the viewer experiences and responds to the environment which you have created. the image , sound and atmosphere are all very import in this practice and something I must consider with every piece of work I make. taking the viewer from one plain to another .

i can work with in a team towards a goal and enjoy working on my own reaching targets and challenges. I can communicate with others effectively and enjoy giving a creative input to any project. I am willing to learn any new skills required of me. I have never found it too difficult in the past to become familiar with programs . I always persevere and have the desire to understand any media that can advance my artistic knowledge and projects. I have a competent understanding of Photoshop and video editing software such as final cut pro. when it comes to my work ethic I am a perfectionist I always strive to created something better than my last realization and build on my new skills that I have required. Learning new skills and media is of the highest importance to me , I enjoy a challenge and feel its necessary to grow as an artist and benefits any pursuit for a creative realization of a project.
