About me

I'm a narrative illustrator and fine artist, trained for three years at the Florence Academy of Art.

I have completed the artwork for the first three volumes of Maquis, a historical graphic novel conceived as a five-part series, comprising 198 pages of sequential artwork alongside cover illustration. The project has involved character development and continuity, historical research, period settings, visual storytelling and close collaboration with the author from script through to finished artwork.

My illustration work focuses particularly on character, atmosphere, historical environments and narrative drawing. I'm currently available for selected graphic novel, book illustration, book cover, character development and narrative illustration projects.

Alongside illustration, I have worked professionally as a painter since 2000, with a background in portraiture, landscape and figurative painting. I was selected for the BP Portrait Award at the National Portrait Gallery and received the Carroll Foundation Award for my portrait of explorer Sir Wilfred Thesiger.

My paintings and drawings are held in private collections internationally, including collections in the UK, Europe, the United States and Japan.
