About me

A recent and ambitious First Class graduate with a strong desire to work in television production and a full driving license. I have gained a wide variety of both transferable and specific skills, which relate to working in media. My work experience placement as a trainee researcher on BBC's 'Timewatch' gave me invaluable insight into the research process and has enhanced my enjoyment and critical interest in the media, as well as equipping me with clear and concise communicational skills.

My role involved carrying out various research via the BBC Gateway, internet and telephone, engaging in phone calls with contributors, concise note making, office work and general Runner duties, hands on experience of studio filming, visiting potential locations for filming, attending departmental progress meetings, participating in demonstrations on the use of green screens, observing the post production process and completing the BBC ten hour health and safety training.

During University and my BBC placement, I expanded my knowledge and confidence of Microsoft programs such as Internet Explorer, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook Express. I actively enjoy researching on the Internet and my keyboard speed and accuracy has been significantly increased. My degree has also proven my ability to express critical opinions within a sustained argument and I have a high level of research and analytical reading as a result.
