FIRECREST INDEPENDENT serves as a ‘fixer’ and facilitates and scout locations for feature films, TV commercials, music videos, events and photographic shoots on the varied island of Madeira, Portugal. Utilizing our extensive network of contacts and knowledge of Madeira we can substantially reduce your costs by shooting ‘on location’ Firecrest Independent exists to help make your production run as smoothly and economically efficient as possible.

We assist your production process by:

FIXER: As a local fixer both on Madeira and mainland Portugal, Firecrest arranges interviews, location permits, transport, hotels, meals, EVERYTHING that an out of town crew needs to shoot a story. We are sometimes referred to as a production coordinator, or local producer, Firecrest knows film and we have the magic touch to get things done.

SCRIPT BREAKDOWN: We will breakdown your script and provide you with digital images of locations that will work both financially and creatively with your productions. Above all we will present you with a choice of locations pertinent to your script or treatment.

LOCATION SCOUTING: The location scouting process may begin very early in the creation of a motion picture, often before all the stars have been cast or before the movie is even greenlit and often within a one week time window of the production date. Once we have read the script, treatment or storyboard and then broke it down into its many locations, we’ll then have long conversations with the Director and Production Designer to determine what it is exactly that they envision. For example, the script might just say EXT.MOUNTAIN STREAM.DAY but we’ll need to find out if the director wants a stream that is straight or curved, crowded or secluded, surrounded by laurissilva or eucalyptus trees etc. Or, if we receive a treatment or storyboard we will decipher it and present the director with a varied choice of locations.
