About me
I am currently working as a Graphic Designer at The Irish World Newspaper, based in North
London. My roles within this position is to produce the edition on a weekly basis, working
with advertisers, editors and journalists alike and laying and editing body text for the
paper, and creating adverts and advertorials. So working with great attention to
detail and to tight deadlines is a weekly occurrence.
I have a great understanding for layout and detail and love the opportunity to be really
creative. I work along side the sales and marketing team and understand the importance of a
top brand. I have completed In-house work for the Irish World through Media packs and
promotional banners, tshirts and flyers. I am also responsible for the weekly online
edition, working with Mag Cloner, which consists of preparing the files for web.
I have been working freelance for over two years now in London also, having completed logo
commissions for Drake and Morgan, a bar/restaurant chain. I have experience liaising with
the client and PR company and my designs are located in Canary Wharf, Gresham St,
Gracechurch St and The Heron Building, here in London. The work that I have completed with
them not only consisted of logo design, but also the important continuity of the corporate
identity throughout the company, from stationary, promotion and creative input, and feel
that I can rise to any creative challenge thrown my way.
I have spent three years studying in Ireland, at Waterford Institute of Technology, in
Design Communications, and my honors degree was spent in Hereford College of Arts, England,
in Graphic and Media Design, both with 2:1 results.
I feel that I can be a confident team player, with excellent communication skills and the
ability to use my initiative and work alone. I too can work to deadlines and adapt and
collaborate with others in a team environment well.
I feel that I have the understanding and professionalism required to work within any
serious business.
