About me

I graduated with a First Class Honours in Illustration last year and have worked as a Designer at a media publishing company since, gaining industry experience in branding, marketing and publishing. Initially my role was intended to be 1 month but after exceeding expectations, particularly as the key designer for the company's flagship trade event FutureScape and new B2B Coffee Shop magazine 'The Blend', I was offered a permanent role. I spent just under a year at the company, improving my design skills around more experienced colleagues, developing communication skills when talking to clients and adapting to the pressure of frequent 'press day' deadlines with an efficient and ambitious attitude. However, I have recently relocated so I'm looking for a new opportunity.

As a designer who has come from an Illustration background, I believe that I can bring a unique creative personality to this Graphic Designer role- I have the analytical, problem solving curiosity of a designer with an eye for detail, built on the experimental and risk-taking flair of an illustrator. As well as a passion for design, particularly print, I am fascinated by human behaviour and interaction with technology, I would love to combine my visual design skills with these interests in a career in UX design. I have a keen interest in music, having previously worked at a prestigious music venue for 3 years. I have also gained experience in fashion, as an onsite illustrator and graphic designer for Fashion Scout at London Fashion Week and within my personal work I like to use visual communication to raise awareness for environmental concerns, for example, I produced a series of 100 page luxury books following the journey of locally caught seafood from the 'sea to the plate' to raise awareness for sustainable fishing and the fishermen that practice it.
