About me
I am a versatile and highly skilled Surface Pattern Designer graduating from Staffordshire University this year. I consider myself to be driven, very passionate and have buckets of creative energy and knowledge to offer and put my heart and soul into my work no matter how challenging, I love to problem solve. My industry briefs I have gained that skills of woking under pressure and to deadlines, this is now second nature to me to be able to multitask different projects. I primarily work in watercolour, but I also love experimenting with pattern and mark making and creating intricate paper cut collage. One of my strongest assets is mixing medias and techniques in playful and experimental combinations. My paintings are not just watercolour they may also include, ink and my own mixed dyes. I think my practice has always been to push the boundaries of a media and process which in turn also pushes the boundaries of the subject/theme I'm working on. I have a great understanding of multicolour prints both digital and screen printed and very knowledgeable about different screen techniques I have a strong set of CAD skills gained over my time at university in Photoshop and Illustrator. Through my studies I have had the most amazing opportunities to work on a selection of live briefs from Clinton's, Johnson Tiles and Marks & Spencers and have been successful in winning these briefs to gain work placements and prizes, but above all experience. These experiences have taught me a range of personal skills too, such as time management, working under pressure, how to reconstruct a brief/ write my own and presenting skills.
