About me

My passion and background in customer service and creative thinking has lead me to the field of user experience.

I studied biopsychology at the University of Winnipeg for three years, teaching me the fundamentals of cognitive and behavioural science, as well as developing my research skills. I intend to return to these studies in the future to complete a degree in psychology. Currently I am studying online with the Interaction Design Foundation. My focused interests are UXD, service and interaction design.

Over seven years in customer service have taught me that above all, user experience is the key to success. I have been trained and developed as a team leader by the dynamic teams at LUSH, Starbuck's Teavana, and Purdy's Choclatier. These speciality retailers have dynamic training programs that have taught me how to deliver above-industry-standard levels of customer service by:

- empathizing with product users

- determining user needs

- solving the users needs with products

- communicating brand messages

- creatively solving customer service problems

I am eager to learn and develop my skills as a designer and problem solver. Some big problems I like to think about with Design Thinking include:

- service design in medicine, specifically mental health service delivery

- UXD and service design in addiction treatment

- UXD and interaction design in online leaning
