About me
Erik Montovano was born in New York and is a graduate of School of Visual Arts in New York City. Erik is a multi-award-winning creative and live-action director. Erik's love for all forms of the moving image and his training as a graphic designer culminate into a unique visual aesthetic that he applies to design and filmmaking.
As a designer Erik has designed, branded and directed Film Titles, Images Spots, Brand Ids, and Promos for CNBC, Comedy Central, HBO, MTV, Showtime and VH1. In addition, Erik has designed and directed visual identities for musicians at Def Jam and GOOD Music, for corporations and non-profits. His design work has won numerous excellence awards from the American Institute of Graphic Arts, the Broadcast Design Association, the Type Directors Club, the New York Festival and Graphis Magazine. Erik's work has been featured in numerous national and international creative publications.
As a filmmaker Erik has directed and produced commercials, documentaries, promotional campaigns, music and branding videos for Kanye West, Big Sean, John Oliver, Cyndi Lauper, the American Symphony Orchestra, Bloomberg and the Metropolitan Opera. Erik recently directed, produced and completed a series of short films, titled Cella, Jane, Violeta, and a television pilot titled MoGraph.
