To Whom It May Concern,

I am currently in my first year studying Graphic design at Hertfordshire University. I feel that university is not the right path for me to approach Graphic design and feel that I need to get into a work-based environment. I want to evolve in Graphic design where I can learn and earn at the same time, this way I can build on experience and skills.

Up until this point I have gained a Btec national diploma level 3 in Graphic design at Hertford Regional College, this was a two-year course. Whilst I was there I have developed skills on various design programmes such as the Adobe suite, which includes Photoshop, Illustrator, Indesign and basic skills in Flash and Dreamweaver. My time spent there I had designed book jackets, posters and WebPages, which my skills using the programmes and a general overlook on design improved.

In my spare time I have also started designing my own brand identity that focuses on clothing. The designs I have come up with I feel are controversial which makes them different which in my opinion is a good element to have. So far I have printed the designs on t-shirts, which were done as proto types to see how they would look on t-shirts, once this was done a photo shoot was taken. I had also included this brand as part as my Final Major Project (FMP) at college, doing so I had designed WebPages which were designed on Illustrator, stationary which includes business cards, compliment slips, and letterheads this again was done in Illustrator, the logo and name was also designed in illustrator and finally a bag prototype which I had edited on Photoshop.

I am very passionate about Graphic design and want to get into an apprentice, work-based environment where I can develop my skills. I am a fast learner a person who takes initiative and also can work under instructions, I enjoy working and meeting people and can keep a cool head under pressure.
