The client needed a full suite of images for his e-commerce website, selling his own brand of watches. The packshots had to be consistent from year to year from day one for the website to look professional, and the header images had to be eye catching and complex, but produced on a limited budget.

For the hero header images of the men's watches, the client had a creative idea that since most of the watches would be sporty in style, they could be arranged on rocks with a night sky behind them. The challenges to overcome were both in prop sourcing for large rocks in London, and the flexibility required from the images due to scalable website design and placement of overlapping text.

The end result you see is a combination of original shots on real rocks, with an image bank image on the sky, and some PS generative fill to extend the canvas at the bottom beyond the table edge.

For the heroes of the ladies watches we needed to come up with a high-end style that allowed the use of supporting watch props, due to the designs having metal straps. I suggested the upright position and using a drop-in background, to keep to the brief at the least amount of editing cost and within the technical limitations.

The packshots are all done with the glass on, and they have minimal retouching. So what you see is mostly done on camera.

The photography in this project is from 2024, but the project has been ongoing since 2019.
