About me

With 5 years' SEO and digital marketing experience, focusing on international content strategies and the highest editorial standards I am truly vehement about upholding content quality standards. I currently manage three sites, with both B2C and B2B verticals and am in charge of driving the commercial roadmap, to include content strategy (keyword research, IA, on page SEO optimisations, competitor research, CRO) alongside maintaining technical site health and overseeing all PR & linkbuilding.

I am experienced in project managing rebrands, (Jan 18) including migration from Drupal to WordPress, working closely with Brand, UX and Tech to ensure seamless delivery.

Leadership

I have been leading a small team for two years and am truly passionate about team development and leadership; I am now looking to develop these skills to take on and develop a larger team. I have worked across hair and beauty, finance, eco, relocations and medical content, among others, applying SEO strategies in both ad-sales and lead-gen companies, allowing me to nurture a variety of transferrable skills across the board.

On Page / Content

Alongside traditional SEO strategies, such as keyword research, I have been focusing recently on catering more to the machine-learning algo updates, ensuring editorial quality is of the highest standards, and that the user is at the core of everything.

Moreover, with the introduction of Hummingbird and the growth of voice search, the way the user interacts with a site becomes paramount, in conjunction with on-page metrics such as time on site. Consequently, I have created editorial guidelines, centred around user personas, to really try and target strategies around our varying audiences, alongside honing all in-house editorial processes and operations to ensure content is of the highest quality.

Off Page

I have developed international outreach campaigns that have gained links in the Independent, Business Insider and Metro to name a few, across both B2B and B2C, focusing on both large-scale brand-awareness campaigns to boost domain authority, and more niche page-level campaigns focusing on increased page authority and topical trust flow.

Technical

I am confident conducting technical audits, optimising site speed, constructing IA best practice, ensuring urls resolve correctly and minimising redirect chains, alongside ensuring IA is optimised for both the conversion funnel and crawlability. Similarly, I am confident employing CTR testing, to ensure the highest click-through rates from the SERPs. I am also well-versed in shaping international strategies, dependent on geographical keyword search volume, applying canonicalization & hreflang metadata.

Software & Data

I am passionate about using data to instruct my strategies and am adept at using Google Analytics, Google Search Console, STAT, BrightEdge, Majestic, SEMRush & Moz, among others. I am particularly commercially focused and am driven by seeing a return from my campaigns.

I am fascinated by the industry and keen to keep abreast of all the latest SEO developments, to try and future-proof sites and stay ahead of the curve.

Career Aspirations

I am passionate about both my own development and that of my team. I am looking to progress to Senior SEO Manager / Content Manager / Brand Manager in the near future and ultimately I would like to become an Marketing Director. I currently have two direct reports but I would definitely like to take on a lot more responsibility in terms of people management alongside site responsibilities.
