About me

Highly proficient in InDesign, QuarkXpress, PhotoShop and Illustrator, I have five years experience of consumer magazine design. Since graduating from university with a First Class Honours Degree in Journalism, I have worked on The Field magazine at IPC Media, progressing to my current role as the Senior Designer and deputising for the Art Editor.

I share responsibility for all aspects of the title's creative design from concept to print production, including features, news pages, supplements and advertorials. Most recently, I was responsible for designing 32-page booklets in association with Barbour, Farlows and Nestle Purina Beta. By combining such a variety of additional projects with my monthly editorial responsibilities, I have demonstrated my ability to manage multiple workflows. I also commission photographers and illustrators, organise photographic shoots, undertake picture research and editing, manage digital reprographical workflows, perform high resolution scanning, liaise with the editorial, advertising and marketing departments, mark-up pages, create PDFs and pass final proofs. Furthermore, to demonstrate my flexibility in adapting to differing house styles, I have also freelanced at Hair, Wedding and Wedding Flowers magazines.

As the Senior Designer, I manage The Field's art department in the Art Editor's absence, sourcing images, commissioning photography and ensuring pages are designed on time, within budget and to the highest possible standard.
