About me
I am a recent university graduate, who has been studying Historical and Performance Costume for Stage and Screen. I am now seeking to gain experience in a professional environment.
A motivated, enthusiastic costume cutter and maker, with a passion for historical research; I excel in character development. I have worked well developing ideas as an individual, and also thrive as part of a team. As a pragmatic person, I am able to adapt to difficult situations and problem solve.
Skills
Working under pressure to create period costumes and accessories; experience in resourcing materials; compiled supply list for lecturers which was distributed to other students; extensive hand and machine sewing skills; extensive pattern cutting from the stand and basic flat pattern cutting skills; historical research for true representation and authenticity; excellent design and design development skills; trained to use domestic and industrial sewing machines, over-lockers and irons; experienced with a variety of fabrics including their care and cleaning; treasurer for year group and took a lead role in fundraising for final year event; used prudent methods of research to enable the cost effective purchasing of materials.
