About me

To whom it concerns,

I am writing regarding the vacancy for a Junior Trend Forecasting Assistant. Since graduating from University with a BA(Hons) in Fashion Styling with Hair and Make Up design I have been proactive in furthering my knowledge and experience within the industry. I have aimed to gain valuable experience within a range of different areas whilst focusing primarily on styling and trend prediction. Prior to my degree I studied Fashion Design which has ensured that I know the design process as well as garment technology, pattern cutting and fashion history. This allowed me to approach my work with a clearer understanding and appreciation of garments. Furthermore, I am now looking to grow and evolve within a stable role that I can learn from as well as contribute towards.

I feel confident to say that through previous positions I have helped various teams from Editorial to Styling and it has allowed me to gain valuable insight into various areas such as the studio, press and sample room. In addition I have gained strong organisational skills and learnt how to balance priorities correctly to ensure all projects run smoothly. The various roles have allowed me to develop strong, professional communication skills. Previous to my employment at Net-A-Porter I completed an internship at WGSN in which I wrote reports for international retail trends after 'trending' all freelancer's imagery. During my time at WGSN I had the opportunity to expand my knowledge and interests in trend forecasting and to gain a clear insight into international retail trends. I found this thoroughly stimulating as I have always held a strong interest in the development of current and future trends. From my interests I produced an educational supplement for fashion students in liason with WGSN featuring macrotrends for three years ahead. My experience and education has ensured I am sufficient in using InDesign, Photoshop, Lightroom and Microsoft Office programmes.

As an individual I conclude myself as being extremely hard working, consistently striving to evolve and pushing my personal boundaries in any given situation. I pride myself on my strong attention to detail, something that has progressed and matured during time within the Industry. I take it upon myself to value work relationships to ensure excellent levels of team work at all times. Furthermore, when working independently I am confident in holding a productive capability working to my own initiative. I'm flexible, quick to pick up new skills and eager to learn from others. I am keen to take on new ideas and to work as part of a team of likewise creative minds. Furthermore being given the opportunity to begin a career in trend forecasting is one which thoroughly excites me.
