About me
I am writing in response to your advert for a POS Designer for Thorntons. I recently graduated from De Montfort University, Leicester in July having obtained a 2:1 in Interior Design and am thoroughly looking forward to starting my design career and developing myself as an asset to Britain's largest chocolate manufacturer and retailer.
I believe design should be exciting and alive, it should stretch every boundary, challenge every situation and stimulate every one of the senses. As a vibrant designer, my aim is to use past design and imagination to create a vision of our design future. I am a confident, highly creative and independent individual complemented with the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
During my time at university, I have explored various disciplines of design including retail and branding featuring design for point of sale, exhibition and residential. Highly organised, I am focused and determined in my management of time and can work on various projects at one time. My experience at Blueprint gave me an insight into the workings of a design company, their time scales and the importance of effective and dynamic design that demonstrates a company's brand and appeals to their demographic of customer. I also learnt the importance of a keen eye for detail in order to achieve a highly finished outcome.
From looking at your website (and eating your chocolate) I see you have an exciting company in which I could apply the skills I have learnt at university and develop myself as a creative individual. I feel that I would be an asset to the design team at Thorntons by creating innovative and exciting ideas resulting in well presented design solutions which would add value to your company.
I look forward to hearing from you soon.
Yours Sincerely,
Emily
