About me

Emily is a multidisciplinary designer with a love for colour, material and design all of which drive her creative thinking.

Throughout her studies she has created a passion for trend forecasting and research both of which have synthesised through colour and material explorations. Fascinated by tactility, she focuses on environmentally conscious material and process based solutions that encourage interactions by the onlooker, to make people think through materials.

Her inspirations lie within material experimentation, the exploration of different substrates and their relationships to one another. Working with various materials like jesmonite, resin and wood as well as reusing already available material, she embraces unlikely contrasts, challenging their qualities to constitute colour and texture. Elements of spontaneity are embedded into her personal practice through an intuitive work process that allows projects to come to life naturally through hands-on methodologies.

Emily demonstrates how conceptual ideas are brought together through trend creation, material research and creative thinking. Driven by an intrepid curiosity for the future, her work seeks to imagine possible projections through the speculation of how things could be. The intention is always to open debate and discussion about the premise through material innovation, driving the way for new interpretations and challenging ideas about the future of materiality.
