EMILIO MARTÍNEZ-BORSO began in the film industry as an assistant director, having the opportunity to work for directors such as Paco Plaza, Jaume Balagueró, Alejandro Amenábar, Fernando León de Aranoa, Daniel Monzón, Tom Tykwer, Paul Greengrass, Brad Bird and Ridley Scott among others.

His first short, .N. receives the award for best script at the XXIV Girona Film Festival, and is broadcast by TVE2 in its program 'Somos Cortos' in 2012. In 2013, he recovers some lost tapes shot ten years ago, and decides to reassemble the material, shooting a couple of new sequences in parallel. The result: Sin Collar. A documentary short film about clandestine dog fights, which was awarded with the prize for best documentary short film at the Film and Video Festival in Houston, Texas, and was screened at the Berlanga theater in Madrid at the SGAE en Corto festival in December 2013, and participated in more than twenty international festivals.

In 2016 he shot his claustrophobic short La Vuelta. Premiered at the Sitges International Festival, it has toured more than 20 international competitions, being seen in countries such as the United States, England, Italy, Romania, Senegal and India, where it received a mention of excellence. In addition, he participates in the film 'Jo, Ramón Llull' by the production company Batabat & TV3 as director of actors.
Between December 2017 and April 2022, he collaborates with the University of Vigo teaching directing within the master's degree in advertising art direction. In this same facet, he has also collaborated as a professor at the .E. Institute of Barcelona as a directing teacher during the academic year, finishing with a masterclass in August 2019.
He has also collaborated as a writer and critic in magazines such as 'Underground', 'Barcelona Cinema' and for eight years in 'Miradas de Cine'.

In 2021 he premieres his latest short film Azul, with which he has won the jury prize at the Trame Indpendenti Film festival, and the Best Film at the Live Screenings film Festival in Georgia among 13 international selections on his tour of festivals to which it continues to travel.

As a writer, his screenplay Fuentenegra was one of the chosen by Europa Creativa Media for its seminary .D. (Logline, sinopsis, Demo) by Fernanda Rossi, y recivied a mentoship of suport a la venda organized by the .C (Guionistes associats de Catalunya). In 2022, his feature film script Enseñando Los Dientes has been one of the projects selected for the reservation of the Islabentura call.
In July 2022, he writes and directs his first film, SinÉl (with which he was selected by the .C. for a mentorship by the company Decoding Stories) produced by Dèria Films, that is currently in postproduction.
