About me

Dear Sir/Madam,

Please accept this letter, CV and showreel as to express an interest in working for your studio.

I have recently been working on an exciting project for Impossible TV; the production of a television series based on the children's books 'Gaspard and Lisa'. I was fortunate enough to begin working on this from an early stage of development and have found great sense of achievement in working on every facet of the production. I have also had a great satisfaction in seeing it come to fruition.

During my time there I have developed and gained skills both technically and personally and found excitement from the challenges that I faced. I've been keen to learn and try out new ideas but also have the flexibility to change my approach to best suit the requirements of the project. An example of this was when I was asked to create trees and shrubs for an exterior set. I used the original oil painted illustrations to create a style that emulated the books and fell within the brief. However, although my work was in keeping with the style, it was decided that visual direction of the production had changed. I took the new approach on board and remained focused on the task in hand.

I always maintain a positive view on situations and this project has helped me develop a concentration on what can be achieved and how improvements can be made. I pride myself on being focused in achieving results to a high standard and enjoying pushing myself creatively and technically.

Despite the more complex skills I developed, the most valuable lesson I have learnt is the importance of the basic principles. If you get this right, the more demanding Work will follow smoothly.

Its not just in CG that I love to learn new things but also in my free time I enjoy taking on challenges no matter how great. A few years ago I bought a 1968 classic Triumph Spitfire. Excluding the shell, it literally arrived in cardboard boxes! Despite very little knowledge of cars let alone how to restore a classic, this has become my project to date and I have now fully restored it. Learning all the skills required, organisation was key. Deadlines were essential to keep the work moving forward.

The skills I have highlighted will give me a good platform on which to move into a role within your studio. I have a fresh approach and outlook with excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills coupled with an enthusiastic and motivated persona. As a strong team player, I understand the complexities of working within a team environment and have a good rapport with colleagues. I enjoying taking the time to get to know people and always ready to listen to other's opinions and advice. Being a driven, dedicated and capable individual, I enjoy a challenge and I hope to become part of your team.

Yours sincerely,

Elliot Wells
