Dear Sir/Madam,

I am writing to apply for the Graphic Designer position as advertised in your ad, on the Creativepool.co.uk website.

I achieved an MA degree in Graphic Design at Middlesex University, London, and have been working as a freelance designer and production assistant for various London based companies such as JN Media Group, Indo Lighting, MillaMia Knitting Co., Rhinegold Publishing and most recently Birkbeck University.

I have 6 years experience of working in the magazine industry in the UK. Responsible for: sourcing images from image banks, creating ads and logos for the companies who advertise with each publication, designing page layouts and product catalogues, retouching images, typesetting and preparing and checking pdfs for print.

Excellent IT skills in both Mac and Windows environments. Proficient in using the Adobe Suite CS5+ (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), QuarkXpress and MS-Office. Also, working knowledge of Adobe Flash, Dreaweaver and Final Cut.

Creative & hardworking, I am a keen learner and adapt quickly to new environments. Happy to work as part of a design team and independently. Focused, organized, able to work under pressure and keep up with deadlines.
