About me
I am an artistic and enthusiastic creative embarking on a career change from primary school teacher to graphic designer and illustrator.
I have always loved drawing, designing and making and I want to make this my living.
I have great transferable skills from working as a teacher and I am very organised, adaptable, and ready to work hard. I have been told by my last two employers that they will miss my calm and positive presence. Prior to my last teaching job I worked as a Junior Copywriter for The Body Shop which gave me valuable experience working in a creative studio. I am looking for the opportunity to become a valued team member, develop my design skills and express my creativity.
I have been working on a variety of self initiated projects to develop my design skills. I design and sell silly sketch cards on Etsy, I have developed all my own branding for this, and I am illustrating my own children's book. Before lockdown I enjoyed attending weekly life drawing sessions and dressmaking classes. Since then I have been improving my design skills through a Graphic Design diploma and Illustrator diploma with Shaw Academy. Take a look at my portfolio to see more of my projects.
