About me
Please fine attached my CV and an example of my previous work.
I have attached some homepage designs, retouching work and affilate banners that I have produced for the company where I currently work.
I am really willing to work hard, and love to take on a challenge.
I consider design to give life to a topic. I work for an online luxury brand and our customers are always asking for further detailed shots of a product because it gives an indication of it quality, or depth. A visual aid is always valuable to the promoting process.
As a graphic design assistant, I have to create mood-boards with full critiques of products theme and history. Aspinal of London is a very British company and is proud of its origin so I like to delve into Britains past photographers, designers and writers to find influences for the homepages and catalogue hero images. I will search the online photo databases to find a suitable image that will not only hold Aspinals repute but also useful in terms of having to Photoshop our products in to the image to give the impression of a real photograph.
I work as an art worker for the graphics department, designing all of the shop signage, affiliate banners and home pages for the website. I have a high level of understanding the Adobe Creative Suite.
I began my job at Aspinal of London as a photo-retoucher but after only several weeks my skills were being passed around the office and I was creating corporate visuals for the brand manager. I have since been promoted to the production department where I mock up products in photoshop so that the factories can see exactly what to make. I design the look books for the shops and often prepare powerpoint presentations for a future clients.
I organise the photographer, who works in house and make sure that everything that needs photographing is where it supposed to be and prepared. I ensure that the photographer takes enough angles for the customers references. At the end of the day, I will process them and load them onto our digital filing system. I always create a hard copy on a DVD disk for back-up.
I am exceptionally organised. My colleagues always refer to me to find a missing image or leather swatch. At my work experience placement at Save the Children, the shop manager would laugh at me because after an hour on the shop floor, everything would be in size, colour and style order. My sorting skills have since developed into digital filing systems and if I have a minute free at work I will be arranging files on the database.
I had to interview and train the design intern that has taken my old position and he has been very successful so far. I am a capable manager and enjoy passing on my skills.
I have also proved a great point of contact between the departments.
I think I am so right for this job and hopefully you will see my experience shows that I am prepared for anything. I am a very fast learner and think I will fit right into your team.
