About me

I originally studied at The University of Hertfordshire on the BA Applied Arts Course, which although I never completed, I am very thankful for the opportunities that I was given on that course. I learnt a wide range of specialist techniques including Glass Making, Basketry and Weaving and also Paper Making. I believe this is what makes me different and also gives me an advantage over many others.

With the use of both my craft and design experience I believe that my designs have a lot to say, which is why I decided to go back to my roots and enrol on a BA Product & Furniture design course at London Metropolitan University.

I tend to draw inspiration from anything and everything that surrounds me but I seem to pay closer attention to nature and the human body. Over the last few years I have had a continued and ongoing playful relationship with fabric and metal and the curiosity of what happens when merged either through weaving or knotting or even burning, how they can in turn create a totally and almost new material.

Because I like to focus on the nature of things, I believe the products I create are able to weave into any personal environment and gradually become the main focus of that environment in a subtle and light way.

I have always enjoyed leading a team and sharing the benefits of a job well done.

My future goal is to work within a design consultancy as a Project Manager, putting to good use my people, organisational and design skills.
