About me
Although originally trained in Art and Design, I switched career in 1989 while living in France, to follow my passion for food and cookery. I retrained at the Ritz-Escoffier Ecole de Gastronomie in Paris and Manoir au Quat' Saisons with Chef Raymond Blanc. Since then I set up my own renowned International cookery school, Cuisine Eclairée (see below). In 1999 I opened my own restaurant, Lemm's in North Yorkshire which I sold in late 2000 to continue my writing and consultancy career.
For the past 7 years I have been food and wine editor at Yorkshire lIfe magazine. During my time there I set up, organised and ran the Yorkshire Life Food and Wine Awards. In 2005 I launched a highly successful new magazine - Yorkshire Relish dedicated to food, wine and hospitality in the county. The magazine also included an independent guide to the top 500 places to eat, drink, sleep and shop in Yorkshire.
