About me

"I am a bilingual English born Japanese editor/director with over 18 years experience working in broadcast and advertising fields in London and Tokyo.

Over the years I have had the chance to experience many facets of the industry - including TVC production and post, live news broadcasts, and fiction filmmaking -working in small and large creative teams and production crews in the process.
My passion for filmmaking started with documentary editing- I get immense satisfaction from the process. It's about creating order from chaos, and finding emotionally engaging narratives or manipulating scenes to draw out the drama and character. I've since branched out into other forms of filmmaking, script writing and direction - having directed and consulted on a number of documentaries, short films and TVCs over the years.
My specialty is narrative work, especially documentaries, reality programs and fiction, but I also believe that everything has (or perhaps should have) a narrative of some sort to flesh out.
