About me

I am currently working as a 3D printing technician and designer at Inition: a 3D technologies company. Recent projects have involved combining 3D printing with other technologies such as 3D scanning and augmented reality.

I also work as a freelance designer and have been employed as a product designer and generative script writer.

I enjoy using the computer as an integral part of the design process for modelling, visualisation and prototyping / manufacturing. I have advanced skills with Rhino and Grasshopper.

I graduated from Chelsea College of Art and Design with a First Class Honours degree in Interior and Spatial Design, My final degree project explored responsive architecture and spaces that change shape and adapt to different conditions. My proposal was a pavilion integrated into the central green space of a housing estate with the objective of reconnecting people with nature through response to changing light conditions and the position of people.

Autodesk - Autocad, Rhino: 3D modelling and rendering with V-Ray. Preparation of geometry for fabrication., Grasshopper: Generative modelling and parametric design., Adobe Creative Suite: Photoshop, Illustrator InDesign, Premiere, Model making: Additive Manufacturing / 3D printing experience: fused deposition modelling, RepRap 3D printing, software and construction of FDM 3D printers: Mendel, Rapman, Ultimaker, Laser Cutting, I enjoy using the computer as an integral part of the design process for computer modelling,, visualisation and prototyping. I primarily use Rhino, Grasshopper, V-Ray and, Adobe Creative Suite for design work. I am proficient in other software and can learn new, programs very fast. I have a lot of experience with 3D printing and laser cutting as well as woodwork, and metal work. I am a keen ‘maker’ and also have experience in prototyping electronics.

Sector Experience

- United Visual Artists (June 2012 - Aug) Design Internship. Working with the multidisciplinary, practice of Engineers, Architects, Lighting Designers, Interaction designers. Responsibilities were, Computer Modelling, Prototyping, 3D printing and Laser cutting and preparing designs for review., - Arup (Jan 2012) Involved in prototyping for an Interactive Graphics installation for the event, Penguin Pools., - RepRap (2012) Constructed a RepRap Mendel 3D printer in my house and completed various 3D, printing projects. Applied for research fellowships focussing on the future of computational design,, easily sourceable hardware, low-cost 3D printing and democratization of manufacturing. (Helical, Shelf System June 2012), - Chelsea College of Art and Design (Summer 2011) Research into low-cost 3D printing, FDM., Constructed RepRap 3D printer and helped to establish a Fab-Lab.
