About me
My name is Dörte Lange. I graduated recently and gained a diploma in Communication Design at the University of Applied Arts Potsdam in December 2007. The theme of my final work was the creation of a visual identity for the new Berlin fashion label Maria Braun.
My emphasis is in the print sector, especially in the area of graphic and editorial design. I have strong conceptual skills, love thinking up unusual and highly creative ideas and finding experimental and surprising ways of visual expression. I have a keen sense for trends and zeitgeist and a strong interest in fashion and the arts. My typographic skills are sound and I am highly fluent in CS3. Furthermore I enjoy experimenting in the areas of illustration and scenography.
In the summer of 2004 I gained work experience in editorial design at iD-Magazine in London. Since 2005 I have been involved in the organisation of cultural events in Berlin and London for which I co-operated with bands and performance artists and thought of ways of transforming space. In 2006 I spent a three months internship at the London based graphic design agency Point Blank and was involved in a variety of projects for clients such as MTV, Pretty Polly and Paul Weller. Currently I am gaining a six months work experience at Silva! Designers in Lisbon, who are Portugal's no 1 agency for editorial design, that will end in August.
I have very strong organisation skill, love to work in a team and feel very passionate about making things happen.
