About me

Dorra Borgi is a Tunisian illustrator, designer, and emerging children's book writer. She is the co-founder of Kahaw Studio, a creative studio based in Tunisia, where she works on illustration, animation, visual storytelling, and educational projects.

Her path has always been connected to images, stories, and the way visual language can help people understand, feel, and imagine. Before founding Kahaw Studio, Dorra worked as a freelance illustrator and designer, collaborated with publishers and cultural organizations, and taught design, storyboard, audiovisual techniques, and visual communication in several Tunisian institutions. These experiences shaped her way of creating: attentive to rhythm, emotion, character, and the relationship between text and image.

Dorra's academic background also reflects her deep interest in children's books. Her Master's research explored the influence of cinema on narrative picture books, while her graphic design graduation project focused on children's illustration as a tool for supporting the therapeutic education of sick children. This early interest in childhood, care, and visual storytelling continues to influence her work today.

As an illustrator, she has contributed to editorial, cultural, and educational projects, including the illustrated book Tunisiennes Célèbres. Her work often moves between traditional and digital techniques, with a strong sensitivity to childhood, memory, humor, and cultural identity.

Today, Dorra is developing her own children's book projects as a writer and illustrator. She is especially drawn to stories that speak to children with tenderness and playfulness, while opening small doors to curiosity, imagination, and a deeper way of looking at the world.
