About me
The experience I have in the creative fashion industry ranges from marketing, buying, branding, retailing and visual merchandising. The scope of the different projects I have worked on has equipped me with the transferable skills that are vital to this fast evolving industry. Working in fashion buying and retail for some of the leading high street and luxury brands as well as being a credible branding and marketing consultant for small niche companies is evidence that I can adapt my communication and techniques to the client and customer whilst still meeting targets and company goals. I have thoroughly enjoyed working in the different dimensions of the fashion industry and this has given me in depth knowledge of how businesses of all shapes and sizes operate in its entirety.
I started my creative journey by obtaining a degree in design management and innovation which gave me the fundamental knowledge on the important business and management requirements for companies and businesses. Undergoing my postgraduate studies in strategic marketing at London College of Fashion also sharpened my research and analysis skills. My previous work within marketing settings and past experience of organising events have helped develop an understanding of the operations and logistics when cultivating and sustaining creativity. My past roles in visual merchandising have equipped me with the fundamental skills in window display innovation as well as help to sharpen my eye for detail.
As a fashion-marketing consultant I have created and executed marketing and branding strategies. I am able to adapt my communication appropriately and one of my past projects with Vilebrequin - an international luxury swimwear company, is evidence of this. The company had a Parisian heritage and this needed to be communicated in the creative visual outcomes and displays. By collaborating with local and international SME's the branding of the company was made more cohesive and interactive visual merchandising was introduced which increased customer footfall and engagement by 55%. The project required me to confidently present new and innovative ways of doing things.
In my previous roles at House of Frasier, I was responsible for the entire critical path management of an in house fashion brand buying team. This involved ensuring the team and suppliers always had current and clear information. Chasing the progress of the different elements of the project not only enhanced my ability to work under pressure and create effective contingency plans and buffers but to also put systems in place that could trace and monitor the development of the project. The critical path document I created whilst at House of Fraser worked so well that it was rolled out across the other brands and I often trained new members to the buying team on critical path management. I also managed the pre-season research along with the designer and compiled the comp shop research and presentations.
