About me
Graduating from Bournemouth University with a master's sandwich degree in (BSC) Product Design, I am looking to find full time employment/graduate scheme to further my depth of knowledge around the area.
Passionate for design/engineering is routes from a young age, growing up into a steel fabrication and design family business, where I have been fortunate enough to gain experience in different areas of manufacture; Working with architecture drawings, producing structural steel work which is manufactured for site. To new product prototypes designed on CAD alongside experienced engineers, this also involves the first assemblies for testing. With drawings and jigs later produced and issued to the production line.
I have completed many projects both inside and outside of my university course, which has strengthened my knowledge of different areas of design including materials, programmes and techniques used. Throughout the last placements I have gained valued experience, approaching new products with a variety of CAD packages and systems programmable to machines. It has also strengthened my ability to be a key part of a team in the workplace, understanding roles to which combined, produce very efficient and effective design strategies.
I am looking to develop and expand my skill set further. I have had more enjoyment from the technical aspects of design, so I believe I would be best suited in an engineering roll with some grounds for product development/ prototyping. The area I would like to be working in is the design and manufacture of products and components, both in a team and individually. Ideally I would like to get involved in the initial ideas and development, though the CAD stages, to seeing or building the finished product. But I am open to different roles as this could benefit me for my future and final year.
Please find attached a copy of my CV and my Portfolio can be sent upon request which has a few examples of projects I have worked on.
Yours Sincerely,
Dominic Allin
