Dear Sir/Madam,

I am applying for the Junior Trend Forecasting Assistant role advertised on the Creative Pool website after having finished my BA Degree in Fashion & Textile Design at Winchester School of Art. Alongside my studies I have been working at Studio M in London, a high end fashion trend consultancy company as a freelancer for over six years, creating samples and portfolio boards sold mostly in New York and Paris to Calvin Klein, DKNY, Banana Republic, Gap and Victoria's Secret amongst others.

My work ethic and style lends itself well to any challenge, and I am a very enthusiastic and fast learner, able to adjust to any task at hand. I am very capable and persevering, always expanding my knowledge and experiences to enrich my practice and my work. During my studies I specialised predominantly in knitwear, but also chose to explore fashion styling, textile manipulation, as well as garment construction, alongside which I took additional modules in Marketing & Branding.

I am proficient using the Adobe Creative Suite having built up skills in InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator using them to draw technical specs, illustrations, for image manipulation and sheet layouts. I would feel confident applying this knowledge and expanding on it where it would help me perform the duties outlined in the role.

Aside from using computer based programs, I continue with a keen interest in drawing and painting and have developed a meticulous eye for colour. My perfectionist approach can also be applied to composition and layout which, although very particular to the individual requirements and needs of the company or task at hand, I feel is a strength I could exercise in this role.

Often meeting with a range of important clients, my tone and manner is always professional and I am confident presenting my ideas. Having found trend consultancy a rewarding and stimulating environment to work in, I wish to develop these attributes further and work with a wider range of companies and clients.

My previous experience and enthusiasm in this field, in a similar role, has been invaluable and I would love to be considered for the applied role. After six years of freelancing on a seasonal/temporary basis, building up my knowledge and experience within the industry, I am eager to commit to a permanent position in a trend consultancy department, and exercise and expand on what I have learnt.
