am a film sound designer, re-recording mixer, production sound recordist, and educator from Nepal with more than fifteen years of professional experience across feature films, documentaries, short films, and television productions. Throughout my career, I have been passionate about using sound not only as a technical craft but as a storytelling tool that shapes emotion, atmosphere, and audience experience.
My work has taken me through every stage of the audio production pipeline, from location sound recording in challenging environments to dialogue editing, sound design, Foley integration, ambience creation, and final theatrical mixing. I enjoy solving complex creative and technical problems, whether it involves building immersive sonic worlds, restoring difficult production recordings, or designing impactful action sequences that enhance the narrative without overwhelming it.
I have had the privilege of contributing to films that have received international recognition. My work includes serving as a boom operator on Shameless, a feature film nominated at the Cannes Film Festival, sound designing a short film selected for the main competition at the Cannes Film Festival, working as an assistant sound designer and ambience recordist on a feature selected for the Berlin International Film Festival and sound supervisor (Nepal) for the film Elephant in the fog which won jury award as well as best sound production award in Uncertain regards at 76th Cannes film festival . These experiences have allowed me to collaborate with talented filmmakers from diverse creative backgrounds while continually refining my artistic and technical approach.
Alongside my professional work, I am deeply committed to education and mentorship. Holding both bachelor's and master's degrees in film sound design, I enjoy helping the next generation of filmmakers understand the creative potential of sound. I have developed university-level courses covering production sound, audio post-production, and sound design, with an emphasis on combining strong technical foundations with creative storytelling.
I am also passionate about exploring new technologies that are shaping the future of audio. From immersive surround formats and Dolby Atmos workflows to AI-assisted music creation and modern production techniques, I enjoy learning, experimenting, and adapting to the rapidly evolving landscape of film and media sound.
Based in Kathmandu, Nepal, I continue to collaborate on projects both locally and internationally while working toward building a world-class film sound studio that supports filmmakers with recording, editing, sound design, and final mixing services. My long-term vision is to contribute to the growth of Nepal's film industry while creating opportunities for collaboration, education, and innovation in cinematic sound.
For me, great sound is invisible, it draws audiences into a story without demanding attention to itself. Whether I am recording on location, designing a complex soundscape, mixing a feature film, or teaching students, my goal remains the same, to create meaningful sonic experiences that elevate storytelling and leave a lasting impression.
